Rep. Scott McInnis, R-Colo., says a plan to sell ski areas to resort operators is dead.
"It's a confusing process, but the simple thing is that it is dead," McInnis said Friday in a telephone interview.McInnis, who has more ski areas in his western Colorado district than any other congressman, said, "It's a dumb idea. We have a good partnership between the community, the Forest Service and the ski areas with checks and balances.
McInnis said he has been promised that the plan will be removed from the budget bill now in reconciliation.
