Six timber sales and a fuel-wood sale are planned in three ranger districts of the Fishlake National Forest.
Officials said the advance announcement will afford interested parties time to examine sale areas while accessible. The Nagah and South Last Chance timber sale and the West Tidwell salvage sale will be in the Loa Ranger District. The Forked Flat fuel-wood sale and Gunsight salvage timber sales are proposed in the Beaver District. Richfield Ranger District sales are the Jolly Mill Point salvage sale and White Ledge aspen sale.A forest spokesman said there could be revisions of areas and volumes before final minimum stump-age rates, bidding provisions and sale conditions are determined. Also, all of the sales are not guaranteed.
Planned sale are as follows:
Loa Ranger District - Nagah timber sale includes estimated 500,000 board feet of Englemann spruce, aspen and sub-alpine fir on about 80 acres. South Last Chance timber sale involves 500,000 board feet of the same species on 132 acres and may be divided into two or three small sales. West Tidwell salvage sale is for 245,000 board feet of similar species on 59 acres.
Richfield Ranger District - Jolly Mill Point salvage sale of 173,000 board feet, primarily ponderosa pine, on 78 acres. White Ledge aspen sale includes 378,000 board feet for cutting on 41 acres.
Beaver Ranger District - Forked Flat fuel-wood sale is in upper portion of East Fork of Beaver River west of LaBaron Lake, containing 177,000 board feet of timber and 445 cords of fuel wood on 22 acres. Gunsight salvage timber sale is in upper portion of the South Fork of City Creek south of Big Flat and includes 510,000 board feet on 53 acres.
