State regulators are investigating the city's public works director after learning his surveying license was revoked by Idaho officials last year.

Rod Blossom lost his Idaho license for reviewing and signing off on the work of a Preston, Idaho, surveyor - Peter Peterson - who did not have a license.Peterson has been convicted of three criminal misdemeanor counts of surveying without a license.

Blossom said he willingly gave up his Idaho license because he does little work outside of Utah.

"Rather than fight the thing with an attorney, I just let them take it."

Now the Utah Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing has scheduled a December hearing on Blossom's engineering license. Blossom said he doesn't have a surveying license in Utah.
