This 19th day of November, 1995, our most loving and loved sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, Christina Stacey, was released from the cruel bondage of Alzheimer's Disease through death. She had been a long term resident of Manor Care Nursing Home in Ogden, Utah.
Christina was born April 5, 1909, in Beaver, Utah, to Sarah Ann and Louis Patterson. Christina was married to James N. Stacey on October 21, 1933, and they had two children, James William Stacey and Ann Eaton; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.Christina was Chief Operator for the telephone company in Beaver, Utah at the time of their marriage. Christina and Jim initially lived in Cedar City, Utah, and they relocated to Richfield, Utah in 1937, in which community they established the Standard Motel, managed by Christina for 30 years.
Christina and Jim were politically active and he served as Mayor of Richfield for two terms and state senator for one term, during which time he enjoyed Christina's close counsel and encouragement. This close working and loving relationship led to their concurrent election as president of the Utah Municipal League and president of the Ladies Auxiliary in 1954, which was the first time a man and wife had served concurrently in these positions in Utah.
Christina was preceded in death by her husband; two brothers, Lewis and Ron, and by two sisters, Jesse and Blanch. She is survived by two children, Jim of Ogden; and Ann (Bill), Austin, Texas; two brothers, Mack (Mary), Beaver; and Elmo (Ivy), Springville; and one sister, Donna Renee Atkins (Aub), Pismo Beach, Calif.
We, her friends and family, will long remember her and we will continually celebrate her wonderful, loving and productive life for she taught us all through her words and deeds.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children, Fairfax at Virginia, Salt Lake City, Utah. Services for the family will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, November 21, 1995, at the Magleby Mortuary, with internment in Richfield City Cemetery to follow.
