Glenn DuWaine Thorup, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, November 19, 1995.

Glenn was born in Salt Lake City on October 1, 1924, to Henry J. Thorup and Pearl Casey. He married Marian Carlson on November 7, 1946. Glenn served for three years in the U.S. Navy, during World War II, in the South Pacific. He worked in the battery business most of his life. He and his son, Bill, owned and operated Intermountain Battery for the past 25 years. He loved to work in his garden where he grew many vegetables for his family and neighbors. A special thanks to his son-in-law, Tom, who spent many hours helping Dad with the garden and yard; and also to Rochelle, Amy, Heidi, and all those who helped care for Dad the past few months.Glenn was a kind and loving father and husband. His wisdom and honesty will not be forgotten. We love you, Dad, and look forward to the day when we will be reunited again.

Survived by his wife of 49 years, Marian; sons, Bill (wife, Kathy); Robert (wife, Karen); daughters, Janet (husband, Rob); and Lisa (husband, Tom); 15 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother, Homer (wife, LaVerla); sisters, Margie Slone, and Betty (husband, Art) Miranda.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Friday, November 24, 1995 in the Wasatch Lawn Mortuary Chapel, 3401 South Highland Drive, where friends may call one hour prior to services. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
