Effie Linda Denkers Phillips rejoined her eternal companion on Tuesday, November 21, 1995.

Born January 2, 1914 to Bernardus Denkers and Lettie Phillips Denkers in Salt Lake City, Utah. Married to Heber Taylor Phillips on April 21st, 1935 in Pocatello, Idaho and later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Heber and Effie were the parents of three children. They lived in Pocatello, Idaho before moving to Salt Lake in 1955.She was preceded in death by her husband in 1973, a son, Richard Heber in 1979, two great-grandchildren and seven brothers and sisters.

Survived by sons, Ronald Dee (Anne), Kansas City, Kansas; Donald Ray (Mary), Salt Lake City; brothers, Don Denkers, Portland, Oregon; Tom (Faye) Denkers, Salt Lake City; Norma (Ralph) Romig, Brigham City; 22 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she loved the Lord and God's children and served in the primary organization for over 30 years, many of which were as primary president. She also served as a visiting teacher. Active in genealogical research she compiled family history records for hundreds of her ancestors and did much of the temple work. She will be remembered by many for her letters and words of encouragement, lifting our souls to greater heights by her giving and special spirit.

A special thanks to her sister, Norma, her many friends who have maintained contact with her and the nurses and aids at the Bountiful Life Care Center for loving and compassionate care for these past two years.

Services will be held Friday, November 24th, 12 Noon, at the Rose Park 5th Ward, 1155 North 1200 West, Salt Lake City, with the viewing from 10:00-11:45 a.m. Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery. Funeral directors, Larkin Mortuary.
