The governor has appointed a local finance expert to the School and Institutional Trust Lands Administration.

Scott J. Robertson assumes a seat previously held by A. Lear Thorpe, who resigned. Robertson's term expires July 1, 1997.Employed in the municipal finance industry for some 20 years, Robertson has also specialized in financing educational facilities. He is senior vice president and board member for Dougherty Dawkins Inc. He also manages the Salt Lake office of the investment banking firm.

Robertson sits on the Permanent State School Fund Advisory Committee and serves as chairman of the Utah Public Education Foundation. He was a key player in forming the new trust lands administration, serving on the advisory board that drafted legislation creating it.
