Maza Lloyd Overlade, age 88, passed away November 22, 1995 at St. Marks Hospital, Salt Lake City, of causes incident to age.

Born September 14, 1907 in Richfield, Utah to Jonathan and Agnes Jones Lloyd, where she gained her high school education, later enrolling at the University of Utah. Maza was a talented musician, being most proficient as a pianist as well as having a beautiful soprano voice.She was employed by the U.S. Treasury Dept. in Washington, D.C. as an executive secretary, where she met and married J. Ellis Overlade, then Assistant Director, Federal Bureau of Prisons, marriage taking place March 25, 1943. After their retirements, they returned to Salt Lake City in the early 1960's, where both were active members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, occupying many positions of responsibility. Maza also worked for several years at ZCMI in an executive position upon her return to Utah. She was very active in the American Business Woman's Association.

Maza is survived by grandsons, Arthur, Joseph and Leslie James; her granddaughter, Cynthia James; great-grandchildren, Kerry Floyd and Randall Moyer; brothers, Harold E. Lloyd of Arcadia, California; Jonathan D. (Ruby) Lloyd of Newport Beach, California; sisters, Olive Harris and Melba (Kenneth) Chatwin of Phoenix, Arizona; stepchildren, Renee Overlade Hall and Leota Overlade Pearson of Gulf Breeze, Florida; also several other step-grandchildren. Maza's husband preceded her in death, as well as her daughter, Karen Overlade James; brother, Max Lloyd and sister, Ina Price.

Funeral services Saturday, November 25, 1995, 1 p.m., Larkin Sunset Lawn Mortuary Chapel, 2350 East 1300 So., where friends may call Saturday 12-12:45 p.m., prior to the service. Interment: Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.
