The 1995 Festival of Winter gets under way in Provo on Saturday with the annual Christmas Parade beginning at 10 a.m.

The parade will march down University Avenue beginning at 1060 North and travel to 100 South. The parade kicks off a month of holiday celebrations. Some other major events throughout the month include:- Monday at 6:30 p.m.: The Procession of Christ-mas/-Lights On Ceremony at the Historic County Courthouse, 51 S. University Ave.

- Friday, Dec. 1 at 7 p.m.: Messiah Sing-In at the Provo Tabernacle. Admission $5.

- Tuesday, Dec. 5 at 6:30 p.m.: The Madrigal Feast, Historic County Courthouse. Cost $30 per person; $50 per couple.

- Friday, Dec. 8 at 7 p.m.: The Mormon Youth Symphony and Chorus, in the Provo Tabernacle. Admission is free.

- Sunday, Dec. 10 at 6 p.m. Brigham Young University German department's Advent-singen, at the Provo Taber-nacle. Admission is free.

- Sunday, Dec. 10 at 7 p.m. the annual Carols by Candlelight, at the Community Congregational Church, 200 N. and University Ave. Admission is free.

- Monday, Dec. 11, through Friday, Dec. 15, the Nutcracker Ballet at Brigham Young University.

- Wednesday, Dec. 13, at 7:30 p.m.: Utah Valley Choral Society "Festival of Carols" in the Provo Tabernacle. Admission charge at the door.
