Adelia Bayles Gold died in Salt Lake City, November 22, 1995.

She was born December 16, 1905 in Bluff, Utah, to Hanson and Evelyn Lyman Bayles. Adelia, who received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Brigham Young University, also earned a Master of Arts Degree from Columbia University in New York City. She taught in the schools of Utah for forty years, twenty-nine of those years in Salt Lake City schools.From 1939 to 1942 Adelia served as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her mission, which began in Copenhagen, Denmark, was completed in the Eastern States Mission in the United States because of the outbreak of World War II in Europe.

On September 2, 1956, Adelia Bayles married Charles David Gold. He preceded her in death on December 18, 1989.

Adelia was a member of the Ensign Women's Business and Professional Club. She was also active in Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority, as well as a worker in local and state teacher's associations.

Survivors include three sisters-in-law, Christa Bayles, Salt Lake City; Josephine Bayles and Delores Bayles, both of Blanding; many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 25, at 11 a.m., at the Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, Salt Lake City, with viewing from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. preceding the funeral services. Burial will be in the Salt Lake City Cemetery. In her memory, it is suggested that contributions be made to the Children's Section, Salt Lake City Library.
