And I give unto you a commandment that you shall teach one another the doctrine of the kingdom.

Teach ye diligently and my grace shall attend you, that you may be instructed more perfectly in theory, in principle, in doctrine, in the law of the gospel, in all things that pertain unto the kingdom of God, that are expedient for you to understand; - D&C 88:77-78.

Not long ago our bishop called my husband and me to serve as the young single adult leaders for our new ward.

As I started preparing my lesson for the first week, I began to understand the great responsibility that was upon my shoulders to teach correct gospel principles to these young people. I prayed often during my preparation of these lessons, and meditated frequently during the week about the lesson content.

Sometimes it seemed that I was failing in my new calling. I was so accustomed to teaching Primary, that teaching adults was a little more difficult for me. I often left the class wondering if I had taught them anything, or if maybe in some small way I had reached them spiritually.

I had prayed to Heavenly Father several times asking Him to help me, so I might be a better teacher. As I was preparing my lesson one day, I came across these verses in the Doctrine and Covenants. As I read, a tremendous burning filled me, and I knew I was to teach this class, and the Lord would help me to better understand the gospel and the scriptures.

Now, every time I feel inadequate in this calling I always read this scripture, and know that my Heavenly Father will be there to help me teach His gospel.
