Presentations of Handel's "Messiah" continue this week with the first big "sing-in" of the season to night and Monday at Abravanel Hall.
Performing at the Nov. 26 and 27 concerts will be the Utah Symphony Chorus and Orchestra, conducted by Ed Thompson, with soprano Jennifer Larson, alto Mary Ann Dresher, tenor George Dyer and bass Gerald Dolter.In addition audience members are invited to bring a copy of the score and sing along in the choruses. For those who do not have scores, copies will be on sale in the lobby beforehand.
Starting time each night is 7 p.m., with tickets priced from $5 to $10; for information call 533-NOTE.
- ALSO ON MONDAY, Nov. 27, the Pro Voce Chorale, Eric Jones conducting, will perform the Handel oratorio at 7:30 p.m. in the Provo Tabernacle.
Joining the 33-voice ensemble, composed of former members of the Ralph Woodward Chorale, will be a 21-piece chamber orchestra. Vocal soloists are soprano Carol Nelson, alto Mary Wescott, tenor Robert Baker and bass Clayne Robison.

- RALPH G. LAYCOCK will lead the Utah Valley Choral Society's annual "Messiah" Sing-In on Friday, Dec. 1, in the Provo Tabernacle.
Starting time is 7 p.m. for a presentation that will feature the 100-member choir and a chamber orchestra. Soloists this year are soprano Carolyn Talboys-Klassen, alto Colleen Butler, tenor Kenneth Shelley and bass Arden Hopkin.
Individual tickets are $6 ($4 students/seniors), or $15 per family, available at the door.
