Stringing Christmas lights proved fatal for a Brigham Young University student.

Killed was:Andrew Howard, 24, Clifton, Va.

Howard, who was majoring in psychology at BYU, fell approximately 30 feet Saturday evening from the roof of his brother's Orem home.

Howard apparently struck his head on a small brick wall that runs around the home, said Orem Police spokesman Gary Downey.

Officers called to the scene administered CPR on the victim until rescue units arrived to transport him to the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center. He was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital, having suffered severe head and facial injuries, said hospital spokesman Anton Garrity.
