The Salt Lake City Arts Council will again join artists, arts organizations and community groups throughout the United States on Friday in focusing attention on the needs of people with AIDS.

"World AIDS Day" - also known in the United States as "Day Without Art" - recognizes the need for action to find a cure and to care for people living with AIDS and broadens the effort to educate the public about HIV infection.Twenty-six Salt Lake galleries and museums will be participating in this event by removing or shrouding works of art Friday when many Salt Lake Gallery Association members will be open from 6-9 p.m. for the annual Holiday Gallery Stroll.
