Julie Krommenhoek shook out of her early season shooting woes to explode for 33 points and a school single- game record of seven three-point field goals as Utah cruised past Idaho State 90-70 on Wednesday night at Reed Gym.

Krommenhoek, who shot 12-for-20 from the field and attempted 13 trifectas, broke the old school record of six three-point shoots owned by herself and two others. The sophomore guard also set an Idaho State campus single-game record for three-pointers, and narrowly missed surpassing her career high of 34 points."Before the game I really wanted to go out and have a good night," Krommenhoek said. "I have been struggling with my shot.

It's felt good, but it hasn't been dropping. The team and the coaches have kept encouraging me to keep shooting. That's helped a lot."

Krommenhoek, as well as the rest of the Utes, had a field day against Idaho State's zone defense. Utah shot 51 percent from the field overall, and 55 percent from behind the three-point line.

Hilary King-Noel also had her best night of the season, scoring 17 points with a 6-for-7 performance from the field. Amber McEwen had 15 points. King-Noel and McEwen each had a game-high nine rebounds.

"They played zone for 40 minutes and we had a lot of open shots," said Utah head coach Elaine Elliott. "Everybody who came in the game, even if just for a few minutes, got open shots and contributed.

Utah's defense also left a little bit to be desired, as the Bengals shot 62 percent from the field in the second half, and were within eight points with 11:20 remaining in the game.

"I wasn't exactly pleased with our defense either," said Elliott. "We struggled with the man-to-man. Going to the zone defense is what did it for us. We threw a different look at them and they were confused."
