Our precious husband and father, Tom Morita, 75, passed away November 29, 1995 at St. Mark's Hospital after a long illness and courageous struggle.

Tom was born July 7, 1920 in San Francisco and graduated from Galileo High School. In 1942, he was evacuated from his home during World War II and sent to an internment camp in Topaz, Utah. There, he and several friends were successful in farming with the help of a county agricultural agent. With his earnings, Tom helped his mother purchase the Dawn Noodle House in Salt Lake City, then sold it and operated the Star Cafe and Pool.On June 23, 1949, he married his beloved wife, Chiyo Horiuchi. They both had a daughter, Renee, in 1956. Tom worked at Hill Air Force Base and retired as a computer sales representative from BMA Data Processing.

Tom was an avid golfer, fisherman and a fantastic cook - known for his world-famous chow mein. He skied until the age of 70 and did aerobics three times a week for nine years. Tom will be remembered as a gentle, compassionate and unselfish man with an incredible sense of humor.

He is survived by his wife; daughter, Renee, and son-in-law, J. Angus Edwards. He was preceded in death by his father, Shinjiro Morita; mother, Tomeye Nishino; and sister, June Dote.

We wish to give thanks and appreciation to Dr. Wesley Keller, Dr. Ronald Joseph, the caring and dedicated staff at St. Mark's Hospital, and Intermountain Health Care's Home Care.
