Garth Lafe Guymon, age 72, of Provo, passed away peacefully Dec. 16, 1995 at his son's home in Bountiful. He fought a valiant two year battle with cancer.

Born April 29, 1923 in Provo, Utah, he was the son of Lafayette C. and Mary Winnietta Jackson Guymon. He married Frances Elaine Mower on May 5, 1943 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.Garth was a kind, loving man, who was devoted to his family. He was loved and respected by everyone who knew him. His passing saddens our hearts and leaves a great void in our lives.

He served in the Navy during World War II. Member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union. He was a member of the Edgemont 12th Ward, where he served as a home teacher and was a member of the choir. He was currently serving in the Provo, Utah mission. He loved his work and the other missionaries there. Enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survived by his wife of 52 years, Elaine; three sons, Wayne E. (Cindy) Guymon; G. Kent (Janet) Guymon; Paul F. (Paula) Guymon; three daughters, Joan (Mike) Willis; Gwen Sullivan; and Ann Minnick; 25 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four brothers, Lagrand, Rulon, Eldon and Reed; one sister, Lela Christensen. Preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Mary Edith, one grandson, Chad N. Sullivan.

Funeral services Thursday, December 21, 1995 at 2 p.m. at the Edgemont 12th Ward, 350 East 2950 North, Provo, Utah. Friends may call at Berg Mortuary of Provo, 185 East Center on Wednesday evening 6-8 p.m. or at the ward chapel on Thursday one hour prior to services. Interment Springville, Utah Evergreen Cemetery.
