A lawsuit filed on behalf of Boise-based Micron Technology Inc. shareholders claims Fidelity Magellan, FMR Corp. and portfolio manager Jeff Vinik artificially inflated Micron's stock price.

The lawsuit, which seeks class action status, says Fidelity Magellan and fund manager Vinik were publicly bullish on Micron, one of the fund's largest holdings "in order to manipulate the price of Micron stock so that the fund could dump a large portion of its Micron holdings at artificially high prices."Fidelity spokeswoman Robyn Tice said the company thinks the lawsuit has no merit and is prepared to fight vigorously. Neither Vinik nor Fidelity's attorneys were made available for comment.

Fidelity Magellan is the nation's largest stock mutual fund with $53 billion in assets.
