The city's holiday lights have gone from a few to a lot in one year, thanks to the opening of the Joseph Holbrook Memorial Park next to City Hall.
The new park, dedicated on Dec. 1, the city's 100th anniversary, contains dozens of new trees. Each has been decorated with Christmas lights."We've gone way up in the amount of decorations," Assistant city recorder Kathy Holt said. "We hope to make it bigger every year."
Holt said a concrete path around the park would easily allow visitors to see the festive decorations close up.
The park is on a five-acre tract, just northeast of City Hall, 1787 S. 2000 West.
