The UPS Foundation, the charitable arm of United Parcel Service, has donated $50,000 to Brigham Young University to provide full-tuition scholarships for approximately 20 American Indian students.

Since 1976, the foundation has provided more than $500,000 in grants to American Indians at BYU for education."Many students would not be able to attend college without the financial assistance provided by The UPS Foundation," said Ken Sekaquaptewa, coordinator of multicultural financial aid at BYU. "We're very grateful."

Gary Lee, executive director of the foundation, said, "We are pleased that the Foundation is able to make this grant, and we extend our best wishes for continued success in the fine work you are doing."

Founded in 1951, The UPS Foundation identifies specific areas where its support would show a clear impact on the resolution of social problems. In 1994, it distributed approximately $13.3 million throughout the United States and Canada.
