On that night of nights so many years ago, the angel of the Lord calmed the frightened shepherds and "said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy.... For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord." The joy of that announcement pertained not only to the shepherds who heard it, but "shall be to all people." (Luke 2:9-11)

At this sacred time of the year, as our hearts are made tender and we reach out in greater kindness one to another, let us cultivate a more perfect love (see 1 John 4:18) and pay heed to the counsel of another angel who said, "Fear not...for I know that ye seek Jesus." (Matt. 28:5)We express our love and gratitude to members of the Church and our friends throughout the world. May the hope, peace, light and love of the Savior fill our hearts at this Christmas season and always.

Sincerely your brethren,
