Leading by just one point at the start of the fourth quarter, Orem used its height advantage and some excellent passing to outlast Timpview 60-50 Tuesday night.
The victory kept Orem (7-0) perfect on the young season, while Timpview (7-2), ranked third in 4A, dropped its second game to a 5A opponent.The Thunderbirds got off to a good start, taking an 18-14 lead at the end of the first quarter. But the Tigers chipped away at the lead before taking the one-point edge into the fourth quarter.
Jenn Love, Erin Johnson and Laura Black combined for 40 points for Orem, while Julie Chambers topped Timpview with 18 points.

East 58, Judge 44: Charlotte Norman racked up 21 points, grabbed 15 rebounds, had four steals and added four assists for the Leopards as they caged the Bulldogs.

Tooele 58, Woods Cross 40: Amanda Kidd and Kristi Thomas combined for 30 points in leading the Buffaloes. The Wildcats were was paced by Joy Francom's 14 points.
West 43, Cyprus 40: Kristina Kokonis' 14 points helped the host Panthers over Pirates. Deb Shober led Cyprus with 16 points.

Manti 45, Rowland Hall-St. Mark's 41: Kristy McArthur tossed in 11 points and pulled in 11 rebounds as the Templars (3-4) rebounded from the Winged Lions' 12-4 first-quarter advantage.
South Summit 51, Millard 50 : Rachel Park had 17 points as the fourth-ranked Wildcats reversed a 27-20 halftime deficit to second-ranked visiting Eagles.

SL Lutheran 49, Mount Vernon 32: Jamie Watkins netted 15 points as Lutheran pulled away from Patriots (1-9) in the second half.
Waterford 31, St. Joseph 14: The Wolves posted a first-quarter shutout, with Catie Nelson's 10 points team high for host Waterford.

Dugway 63, Tintic 18: Mary Ann Beckstrand tossed in a game-high 19 and Heidi Bruced added 17 as the Mustangs had little problem with the Miners.

Bingham 60, Viewmont 38: Megan Lofthouse tossed in a 18 points and Amy Taggart added 11 as the 6-0 Miners upped the state's longest winning streak to 35 games.
Bonneville 66, Copper Hills 40: The Lakers led 28-6 after the first quarter, with Melinda Webber poured in 17 points for Bonneville.
Brighton 50, Granger 35: The Bengals pulled away with a 20-5 second quarter, as Mindy Hansen's 12 points led the way for Brighton (3-6).
Cedar City 69, Richfield 43: Jill Banks and Janelle Romney combined for 44 points in leading the 3A top-ranked Redmen (8-2) past the Wildcats.
Davis 54, Fremont 52: The top-ranked Darts rallied for a third-quarter lead and hit 12 free throws in the fourth to defeat the fifth-ranked Silver Wolves. Megan Jensen netted 21 points and added five assists and four steals for Davis (6-0); Nikki Vaughn led Fremont with 23 points.
Hillcrest 42, Cottonwood 41: The Huskies held on as the Colts all but erased an 11-point second-half deficit. Cottonwood, led by Heather Beasley's 13 points, managed just 9-of-25 free throw attempts.
Kearns 60, Logan 50: Jana Klopfenstein hit four 3-pointers and 18 points in leading the host Cougars. Heather Allen and Wendy McEntire each scored 14 points for the Grizzlies (4-4).
Layton 55, Bountiful 30: The Lancers rallied by taking advantage of Brave misfortunes. Christy McAtee scored 16 points to lead Layton (6-1), while Bountiful (1-6) lost two players with knee injuries.
Morgan 61, Ben Lomond 45: A 21-2 third-quarter and Amber Manning's 18 points aided the Trojans (3-2). Katie Parker scored 22 for Ben Lomond (3-4).
Mountain Crest 48, Lehi 44: Jackie Richardson paced Mountain Crest with 16 points, which held off Lehi's last-quarter rally. Cyd Revil and Jana Fullmer each had 10 for the Pioneers.

Sky View 58, Roy 50: The Bobcats rallied from a nine-point halftime deficit, and Taffy Smart scored a team-high 17 points for Sky View (3-3). Crystal Howe had 18 for Roy (1-4).
Spanish Fork 51, Juab 42: Emily Ashton and Shellie Zacco each scored 12 points to pace the Dons. Marie McKnight also had 12 points for Juab.
