James "Jay" C. Ritchie, age 70, passed away December 18, 1995 in Kansas.
Born April 21, 1925 in Park City, Utah. He was a Patriarch of Olathe Stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was a principal in Cooper, Carlson, Duy, Ritchie Architects, Kansas City and Salt Lake City. Mr. Ritchie had served on the advisory board of KMBZ and KMBR. He was active in the Water Garden society, the Boy Scouts of America Council, and had been a Boy Scout Leader. He was a World War II veteran, serving in Europe as a fighter pilot with the Army Air Corp. He graduated from the University of Utah, and received his MFA degree from Princeton University in 1957.Survived by his wife, Arlene; three daughters, Kathleen Woffinden and Rebecca Speakman, both of Rexburg, Idaho; Sarah Yamazaki, Redondo Beach, Calif; two sons, James S. "Jim", of Overland Park; Steffen P., of Rexburg, Idaho; a sister, Carol Nerheim, of Arcadia, Calif.; his mother, Mignon Ritchie, of Salt Lake City; and 19 grandchildren.
Services in Overland Park, Kansas, D.W. Newcomers Johnson County Funeral Chapel.
