The Provo/Orem Chamber of Commerce has been reaccredited by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

The initial accreditation, as well as reaccreditation, follows a review of the organization's application by the accrediting board. Each member of the group serves as a U.S. Chamber Board member. The merits of organization applying for accreditation are first considered by the accrediting board and final approval comes from the full U.S. Chamber Board. The accreditation program has a fourfold purpose:

- To define standards of planning and performance; and to show how these standards can be reached and maintained.

- To measure achievement

- To give recognition and encouragement to organizations and staff members.

- To upgrade and improve the voluntary organization of business and professional people.

The local chamber was cited as an organization meeting standards of performance in planning and programming and conducting a well-balanced and productive program of work.

  1. Fewer comments automatically sent to moderation (we hope).
  2. Lower tolerance for uncivil comments. If you encounter a warning that your comment will be sent to moderation, try revising before you submit for the best chance of approval.
