Margaret Thatcher, Great Britain's "Iron Lady," often stood alone against strong opposition in Parliament to the great admiration of liberty-loving people worldwide.
We have just witnessed our own "Iron Lady," Enid Greene Waldholtz, standing like a bulwark being bombarded almost mercilessly by our local press, plus many others, for five long hours. She even had another element that never entered Margaret's parliamentary halls: the case of a lying, thieving husband whom she had hoped would become the "strong one" in her life but who actually became the bane of her life.Suffering almost unbearable stress at being constantly questioned about the actions of those she had loved the most, she stood her ground and answered all of them patiently and politely, with unbelievable stamina.
It is very difficult for the victim of a clever liar to hold a steady course; witness the case of those who believed Adolf Hitler, the master liar of all time.
Due to the very successful year in the Congress of Rep. Waldholtz, I believe we need someone like her to represent Utah in Washington. I hope she will run again.
