Offices of the Uinta National Forest shut down Tuesday due to lack of funds to continue operations.

The shutdown includes ranger districts in Heber, Pleasant Grove and Spanish Fork and the supervisor's office in Provo. With no resolution to the Interior Appropriations Bill - through which the Forest Service is funded - there is no money to operate, said officials.

During the shutdown period, emergency activities such as fire suppression, law enforcement and response to natural disasters will continue. All visitor and information centers will be closed.
