The first recipe exchange for 1996 is just around the corner. January's topic is, naturally, centennial recipes. We're looking for family favorites that have a bit of history to them. Good ol' food favs that have lasted for generations. You know, stood the test of thyme. Tell us about their background. Just make sure the food is edible. No sagebrush frappe, thank you.

Send your entries to us with the following info:1. Your name, address, phone number. Also include number of servings your recipe makes, cost of finished product and detailed instructions on how to make the thing. Please include some historical background on your recipe.

2. No more than three recipes from any one person or household will be accepted.

3. If identical recipes are submitted, the one with the earliest postmark will be tested.

4. Recipes must be postmarked by Dec. 16. Selected recipes will appear in the Tuesday, Jan. 2, 1996, Deseret News Food Extra . . . and you'll be $10 richer for your efforts.

5. Mail your centennial recipes to:
