Auditions have been scheduled for the following stage productions:

- Beau Jest, James Sherman's romantic contemporary comedy, by appointment only on Saturday, Dec. 16, from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Hale Center Theater, 2801 S. Main.All roles are open and will be double-cast. According to director David Nieman there are roles for one woman, 20-30 years of age; one woman, 50-70; two men, 20-30; one man, 30-40, and one man, 50-70. All performers will be paid.

Please come prepared with a one- to two-minute monologue. All auditioners should also bring a current photograph and resume.

- Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat today (Dec. 8) from 6 to 10 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 9, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Provo Theatre Company's new facility, 105 E. 100 North, Provo.

There are roles for 20 males, 18-55 years of age and up, and 10 females, 14-45 years of age. Those auditioning should come prepared with a one-minute upbeat musical theater selection, a one-minute ballad and a resume. An accompanist and cassette tape player will be provided.

Portrait-style photographs will also be accepted but are optional.

Charles Lynn Frost will direct the show, which will formally open the new Provo Theatre Company home during March. Rehearsals will begin during January. For further information, call 226-7307.

- The Wizard of Oz on Jan. 4-6 at the home of Laura Garner, 1967 W. 13930 South, Bluffdale.

Audition times are 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, Jan. 4-5, and 10 a.m. until noon on Saturday, Jan. 6.

There are roles in the Bluffdale Arts Council production for the lead characters (Dorothy, Glinda the Good Witch, the Cowardly Lion, the Tin Man, the Scarecrow, the Wicked Witch of the West and the Wizard, along with dozens of Munchkins, Ozians and Jitterbugs.
