When men's basketball fans tune into ESPN's "Big Monday" next season, instead of seeing the Big West, they may see Western Athletic Conference games, the Albuquerque Journal reported.

The Big West's contract with ESPN expires at the end of this season, said Mike Soltys, ESPN spokesman.Although ESPN's first choice to fill the Big Monday slot was not the WAC - but the Pac-10 - WAC Commissioner Karl Benson said the WAC is now the primary choice.

The Pac-10 on Monday declined ESPN's $3-million, four-year, 23 game schedule.
