Our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend, Thelma Ward Gibson, age 93, passed away on February 12, 1995 at her home.

Thelma was born January 19, 1902 in Parowan, Utah to William George and Emily Ann Whitney Ward. She married George B. Gibson, July 2, 1924 in Salt Lake City. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He preceded her in death on June 5, 1987.Thelma was the sixth child of twelve. She attended the University of Utah and taught school in Gammet, Idaho and Winter Quarters, Utah. She worked at Hill Air Force Base during World War II, and for many years kept her husband's books for his plumbing business.

One of Thelma's great joys was her activity in the LDS Church serving faithfully in several Relief Society ward and stake leadership positions. She enjoyed her membership in the Daughters of Utah Pioneers, Kimball Camp. Since 1927 she has been a member of the Bountiful 2nd Ward. She will be loved and remembered by her family and friends for her loving service and companionship.

Thelma is survived by two children and their spouses: Rodney (Ramona) Ward Gibson and Marjean (Wilford) Crowther, both of Bountiful; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Rae. She is also survived by one sister, Ortell Ward Rasmussen and one brother, Keith Ward.

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 17, 1995 at 12 noon in the Bountiful 2nd LDS Ward Chapel, 650 South 200 East. Friends may call at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main, Thursday, 6 -8 p.m. and Friday at the church, 10:45 - 11:45 a.m. prior to services.

Interment: Wasatch Lawn Cemetery, Salt Lake.
