Alan Butcher Manning, 76, beloved husband and father, passed from this life February 13, 1995. He died form complications of Myelofibrosis.

He was born in Fruit Heights, Utah, June 8, 1918, a son of Charles Edward and Nellie Butcher Manning.He married Dorothy McEntire in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on February 2, 1948. Alan spent most of his life in Fruit Heights and Kaysville, Utah. He attended Davis High School, graduating in 1936. He retired from Hill Air Force Base after 23 years as a civilian employee. In 1946, he began his service as Town Clerk/City Recorder of Fruit Heights, and was honored by them for his contributions when he retired in 1981.

He was active in the LDS Church having served as ward clerk, stake clerk, and Elders Quorum president.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years; a son, Robert Alan Manning (wife, Debbie), Provo; three daughters, Marilynn Manning, Christine M. Eichert, both of Fruit Heights; Janice M. Bryant, Kaysville; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Myron (Mike) Manning, and Glenn Manning (wife, Beth), all Fruit Heights. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Ila Major.

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 17, 1995, 11 a.m., at the Kaysville East Stake Center, 201 South 600 East, Kaysville. Friends may call Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main, and at the church Friday from 9:45-10:45 a.m.

Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
