Jack G. Felt, Jr., 77, died Thursday, February 16, 1995 at his home in Ogden, of heart failure.

He was born May 11, 1917 in Salt Lake City, Utah, a son of John Gillingham Jr. and Sibyl Anderson Felt.He married Claramay Patterson on September 11, 1945 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She died June 6, 1970.

He grew up in Salt Lake City and moved to Ogden in 1938. He graduated from the University of Utah in 1939 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in business. He was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity.

He had been the owner and manager of Felt Auto Parts Company and Machine Shop.

He was a member of the LDS Church and had served as Scout Master and Explorer Advisor. He also served in the Stake Young Men presidency, as counselor in the bishopric and on the High Council, in the ward High Priest Group leadership and as ward temple coordinator.

He was awarded the Silver Beaver Award for scouting and served as scout district executive and on the council commission. He was a chairman of the board of the McKay-Dee Foundation and served on the board of directors for the Credit Bureau of Ogden. He also served as chairman of the board of the Ogden Weber Area Vocational Center, treasurer of the Weber County Library Foundation and vice-president of the Ogden Symphony/Ballet Foundation.

He was a veteran of World War II Serving with the US Army.

Surviving are two sons and one daughter, James P. Felt, Salt Lake City; Dr. Douglas P. Felt, Ogden; Carol F. Kearl, Couer d'Alene, Idaho; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by one brother, William L. Felt.

Funeral service will be held Monday, February 20th at 11 a.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., with Bishop F. Craig

Hazen of the Ogden 43rd Ward officiating.

Friends may call at the mortuary Sunday from 6-8 p.m. and Monday from 10-10:45 a.m. Interment, Lindquist's Washington Heights Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made tot he local charity of your choice.
