The 10th Annual Utah Valley Business Expo will be held Friday, April 14, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Utah Valley State College in the Hall of Flags.

The Expo will showcase more than 200 businesses featuring their products and services, as well as instructional workshops, door prizes and a luncheon featuring Utah Jazz General Manager Tim Howells speaking on "The Economic Impact of the Utah Jazz."Cost of the noon lunch is $15 and RSVP is required to the Chamber of Commerce at 379-2555. Performing groups from UVSC and Brigham Young University will entertain throughout the day, including the BYU Jazz Legacy Dixieland band at 11:30 a.m. and the BYU University Chorale at 1 p.m.

The Utah Valley Business Expo began as the Utah Valley Business and Industry Fair in the mid-1980s. Traditionally the fair has been held at the Provo Park Hotel, but requests for booths forced the move to larger facilities at the community college.

More than 3,000 people attended last year's Expo with more than 80 companies participating. More than 40 businesses were turned away. This year's festivities will also include the awarding of special business scholarships.

"The purpose is two-fold," said Chairman Brett Barrett. "The first purpose is to network with existing businesses and the second is to showcase the business strength of Utah County."

Hosted by the Provo/Orem Chamber of Commerce, this year's major sponsor of the Expo is the Deseret News. Admittance is free, but more than 20,000 tickets, which include a form to register for door prizes, will be distributed in advance of the Expo.
