Dorthea Jane Nielsen Newbold Bull, age 88, died February 23, 1995.

Born November 24, 1906 in South Jordan, Utah to Soren J. and Dorthea B. Maynard Nielsen. Married William H. Newbold in the Salt Lake LDS Temple November 26, 1924. He preceded her in death June 30, 1967. Married G. Douglas Bull in Elko, Nevada on January 20, 1970. He died October 4, 1993. Dorthea wrote a garden column for the Deseret News and was President of the Utah Associated Garden Club as well as being active in Salt Lake County and Utah State Fair flower shows. She owned and operated her own Floral Shops, Dorothea's Floral and Cherlynn's Floral. She loved to travel with her husband, Doug and was an avid reader. She coached and played in the old Farm League Softball games and participated in community and church activities in South Jordan.Survivors: daughters, Marilyn N. Strasburg and Sherma N. Nixon; step-son, Steven D. Bull and wife, Helen; 16 grandchildren and two step-grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; sisters, Laura N. Schouten and Georgia N. Johnson; brother, Soren J. Nielsen Jr. Preceded in death by son, W. Stewart Newbold; step-granddaughter, Stephanie Bull; sisters, June N. Reading and Mary N. Oyler.

Funeral services Monday, February 27, 1995, at 11 a.m. in the Goff Mortuary Chapel, 8090 So. State, where friends may call Sunday 5-7 p.m. and Monday one hour prior to services. Interment, South Jordan City Cemetery.
