A man in a ski cap who said he had a gun held up a south Central City bank Tuesday.

The man entered the bank branch, 1575 S. Main, about 11:15 a.m. and demanded money. He fled north on foot, Salt Lake police Lt. Jim Jensen said. During the entire exchange the man kept one hand in a pocket, implying he had a weapon.He is described as between 25 and 30 and 5 feet 8 inches tall. He also wore sunglasses.

The Metro Mart at 510 N. Redwood was robbed Tuesday about 8 p.m. after a masked man flashed a black handgun.

The suspect is described as 5 feet, 5 inches tall with a medium build. He had a foreign accent and demanded the clerk turn over all the money, Jensen said.
