After immigrating to America, the family was sealed in the Salt Lake Temple, November 16, 1949.Left to carry on the family legacy are her husband, Egbert Van Komen, three sons and one daughter, Bert P. Van Komen (Doreen), Sandy, Dr. George J. Van Komen (Susan), Salt Lake City, Robert H. Van Komen (Janie), West Point, Utah, Ria (Corina) Jachmann (Siegfried), Sandy; 12 grandsons, seven granddaughters, and two great- grandsons. She also invited Lucas and Sharon Visser and their 5 children to be part of her family. She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, "Kristi".

Her accomplishments were her children. The governing force of her life was her family and her faith. She left a comfortable life in Holland to give her children the opportunity to live in Utah where they could be surrounded by their church and be sealed together forever. She became a Licensed Practical Nurse to help support her three sons on missions. She wanted "No" empty chairs at her table in both physical and spiritual presence. She did not feel complete unless everybody was there. She touched many lives with her compassionate service to family, friends, and patients at the LDS Hospital. Her quick laughter and living nature will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 31, 1995, 12:00 noon, with a viewing from 10:45-11:45 AM prior to the services at the Mount Olympus 9th Ward, 4635 South Lanark Road (3315 East).
