Joyce Camille Worthen Walker peacefully returned home to her Father-in-Heaven after a courageous battle with cancer on March 28, 1995. She was surrounded by her family at home for her passing.

She was born July 26, 1933 to Donovan H. and Grace Middleton Worthen in Salt Lake City. Raised in Murray/Midvale area. Served LDS mission in Northern Far East Mission (Japan). Married M. Dahl Walker on September 1, 1960 in Salt Lake Temple, later divorced.Received BS from BYU and MS from U of U. She has been an active member of the LDS Church and some of her callings have included ward organist, Relief Society president, and various other callings. She was an elementary school teacher in the Granite School District for many years and was a manager for First Security Bank for over 12 years. She was also involved in many entrepreneurial ventures. She was a strong woman who was a pillar of strength and support to all who knew and associated with her. She served her fellowmen, among many cultures endlessly and selflessly. She will be greatly missed by both family and friends.

Joyce is survived by five children and their spouses, Becky A. (Brian) Bentley; Wendy L. (Randy) Baird; Donovan D. (Anny) Walker; David A. (Stacia) Walker; Michael D. (Natalie) Walker; nine grandchildren; with 2 more on the way; mother, Grace Worthen; brothers, Blaine R. (Barbara) Worthen; Gary L. (Rachelle) Worthen; many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her father, Donovan H. Worthen.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 31, 1995 at 12 noon, at the Midvale Union Fort 2nd Ward, 540 East 7200 South, Midvale. Friends may call Thursday, 6-8 p.m. and on Friday, one hour prior to services at the ward house. Interment, Murray City Cemetery. Funeral directors, Memorial Estates.
