Area farm and ranch owners will find out how they can supplement their income through recreation at a training session Tuesday, March 7, in Salina.

Farm and ranch recreation options, liability, risk management, marketing, finance, permits, business planning and customer relations will be discussed. Suggestions will be presented about potentials for developing bed-and-breakfast facilities. Participants will receive a workbook and resource materials.Registration will be limited to 50 people. The sponsor is the Utah Division of Business and Economic Development. To register call 801-896-8965 by Friday, March 3.

The seminar will cost $20 for a farmer or rancher or rancher and an additional $7 for spouses or partners, including lunch. It will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Black-hawk Arena.

Jeff Powell and Susan Rottman, partners in a Wyoming consulting firm, will conduct most of the seminar. A panel of wildlife and public lands managers and representatives of insurance and tourism industries will participate.

Similar sessions will be held March 8 in Price and March 10 in Garden City, Rich County.
