Folk music from around the world will be featured on this weekend's Utah Symphony youth concerts, to be presented Saturday, March 4, at Abravanel Hall.

"Musical Roots: A Folk Music Spectacular" is the title of the program, to be conducted by Kory Katseanes.Guests will include the folk ensemble Darena in music of Kodaly and Khachaturian, the Japanese ensemble Koto in the Furiant from Smetana's "The Bartered Bride," the gospel group Just a Portion in "Laideronette, Empress of the Pagodas" from Ravel's "Mother Goose" and Mariachi de Michoacal, adding Mexican flavor to the Largo from Dvorak's "New World" Symphony.

Concert times are 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m., with tickets available at $5 for youngsters and $8 for adults.
