Syracuse
In its Feb. 28 meeting, the City Council:
- Discussed special improvement districts and the possibility of using them to add needed sidewalk in the city to make it safer for kids who must walk to school because of reduced busing.
- Reversed a decision from the last council meeting. The city will hold a spring cleanup after all on March 27-April 14.
Clinton
In its Feb. 28 meeting, the City Council:
- Honored Matt Rooney for his work as a part-time city police officer and court bailiff.
- Agreed to contribute $100 to Ginny Dubose, 12, a city resident who needs more than $1,000 in sponsors to participate in a California modeling and talent contest.
- Approved Seasons West subdivision, phase one, 20 lots, at 2650 W. 1800 North.
- Approved Park Davis Estates, 19 lots at 2150 W. 1800 North.
- Agreed to make a decision at the March 14 council meeting on increasing the city's building fees to the 1994 state recommended levels.
- Directed the city parks and recreation commission to study how to develop the six acres of property on 2000 West, near the city shops.
Clearfield
In its Feb. 28 meeting, the City Council:
- Granted final approval to Antelope Crossing subdivision, phases two and three, 31 lots, near Antelope Elementary School.
- Granted final approval for Pheasant Creek subdivision, phase two, 35 lots at 25 S. 500 West.
- Granted final approval for Matheson Manor small subdivision, 3 lots at 840 S. 500 East.
- Approved the split of lot 17 in the Smith Estates subdivision, 865 S. 550 East to construct a twin home.
- Discussed starting a youth city council and directed the city attorney to prepare the legal paperwork.
West Point
In its Feb. 28 meeting, the City Council:
- Received the sheriff's report for January.
- Discussed a proposed outdoor nature center on eight acres of city property behind West Point Elementary School.
Davis Energy Recovery
In its March 1 meeting, the Administrative Control Board of the burn plant:
- Approved free dumping by charitable organizations who participate in the "Take Pride in Utah" cleanup on May 13.
- Approved a special waste agreement with BFI and Ludlow Waste Company.
