Radio stations KUTQ (FM-99.5) and KZHT (FM-94.9) are looking for a new program director.

According to Starley Bush, general manager of sister station KTKK (alias "K-Talk,"), Gary "Wooly" Waldron left the stations earlier this week in a change of direction.Waldron had been program director and also general manager of KUTQ since early 1992. He was previously the program director at KISN-FM. When KUTQ assumed con-trol of KZHT last year, Waldon also took those additional duties.

Bush said he will act as the new general manager for both KUTQ and KZHT, which together have more than 40 percent of the Wasatch Front teenage audience, according to last fall's Arbitron ratings.

"I'm in the process of interviewing" for the program director position for the two stations, Bush said. He expects to name a replacement in the next two to three weeks.

Bush confirmed that Waldron was also a shareholder with KUTQ and he can retain that financial holding if he desires.

No format or on-air personnel changes are expected with the departure of Waldron, a legendary Utah radio personality himself who used to work at KNAK and KCPX-AM in the early 1960s.

KZHT is a mainstream hit/

dance music station, while KUTQ is an alternative hit radio station.

"We'll keep playing the hits," Bush said.
