Thelma Esma Strasburg Chidester, 79, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, died March 3, 1995.
Born August 5, 1915 in American Fork to Evar and Esma Goode Strasburg. She married James Earl Chidester July 5, 1935 in Salt Lake City. Marriage later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Active in the LDS Church, she served in many church callings and loved working with the young women. She lived a life of service and was loved by many "adopted" grandchildren. She loved flowers and looked forward to springtime when her flower gardens began to bloom again.She is survived by her husband of Highland; her children, Wesley and Kay Chidester, Reed and Lynette Chidester, all of American Fork; Leon and Irma Chidester, Cedar City; Elaine and Verl Matthews, Panquitch; Richard and Susan Chidester, Green Top, Missouri; Dale and Debra Chidester, Clinton; Robbie and Nancy Chidester, Sandy; 36 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; two brothers, Glen Strasburg, American Fork; Leland Strasburg, California; and a sister, Mrs. Dean (Ila) Adams, Lindon. Preceded in death by her parents, two children, three brothers, two sisters, and a grandchild.
Funeral services will be Monday, 1 p.m. in the Highland 4th Ward, 5335 West 11200 North. Friends may call at Anderson & Sons Mortuary, 49 East 100 North, American Fork, Sunday 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday at the Church one hour prior to services. Burial, American Fork Cemetery.
