Turkish truckers line up near the Habur border crossing in southeastern Turkey, waiting to cross into Iraq to purchase fuel. Trucks were backed up some 25 miles this week. Despite U.N. sanctions against Iraqi oil exports, thousands of Turkish truckers are ferrying oil from Iraq into Turkey, where they make big profits selling the fuel. The Turkish government denies any violations of the U.S.-led embargo, put in place after Baghdad invaded Kuwait in 1990. The United States says the oil sales technically violate the ban.
