Priesthood and auxiliary leaders are reminded that meetinghouses and Church-sponsored meetings are not to be used in ways that are intended to promote the buying or selling of goods and services (See General Handbook of Instructions [1989], p. 9-4). Local leaders should carefully screen and approve guest speakers and the topics of their presentations. For example, guest speakers giving presentations on personal preparedness that might involve a discussion of wills, trusts, insurance and other financial matters should not use such occasions to solicit customers or clients. Speakers should be reminded of this Church policy.
