Buster Keaton stars in the classic comedy "Battling Butler" as the latest presentation in the Organ Loft winter season, Thursday and Friday, March 9 and 10.
Often cited as Keaton's personal favorite of his own movies, "The Battling Butler" is also one of his lesser-known pictures. Keaton plays Alfred Butler, a spoiled weakling who tries to impress a young woman by pretending to be the famous boxer known as "Battling Butler."The real "Battling Butler" is, of course, quite a nasty fellow, and when he discovers Alfred's deception, he's not happy about it. Complications eventually pit them against each other.
"Battling Butler" will be shown with live organ accompaniment by Blaine Gale on the mighty Wurlitzer Theatre Organ. The Organ Loft is located at 3331 S. Edison St. (east of State Street, just south of 3300 South).
Tickets are available at the door, or you may phone 485-9265 for reservations. Admission is $5.
