Murray city firefighters spent most of the evening fighting a garage fire at 4740 South and 234 West.
Fire crews arrived at the scene about 5:45 p.m. to find the upper floor of the two-story garage fully engulfed in flames, said Capt. Brent Fullmer.Fullmer said the structure was filled with cardboard boxes, sewing machines, industrial table saws, bolts of cloth, tanks of oxygen, gasoline and oil - many of which exploded while crews struggled to control the blaze.
Fullmer estimated the damage at $300,000. The cause is under investigation.
