Ernest Vaughn Sax, age 64, passed away peacefully at the Fay Case Care Center, Salt Lake City on March 3, 1995 from complications of Charcot-Marie Tooth Muscular Atrophy.
Born January 10, 1931, in Mackay, Idaho, to Ernest Alois and Lu Dean Olsen Sax. He married Janielle Ward on August 8, 1960 at Salt Lake City, Utah, later solemnized in the LDS Temple.He was raised in Eureka, Utah, and graduated from Tintic High School. Chief Technologist and Assistant Administrator of American Red Cross Blood Bank. Appointed by National Red Cross to formulate and structure a Technical Advisory Committee. Avid hunter, fisherman, sportsman and artist. Member of the Kenwood 1st Ward. Preceded in death by his parents.
Survived by his wife Janielle; one son, Ernest Ward Sax and daughter-in-law Tracy Webb Sax; grandchildren, Tyler J., Kelsey, and Chase W. Sax, Sandy; sisters, Bethine (Harris), Bountiful; Jo Ann Manley, Renton, Washington; Marian (Douglas) Whiting, North Oaks, Minnesota; Jeanine (Curtis) Jensen, Bountiful; currently living in Salta Argentina, where her husband is mission president for the LDS Church; nieces and nephews.
Private family graveside services will be held Monday March 6, 1995 at the Salt Lake City Cemetery. Directors: Holbrook Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to the Primary Childrens Hospital, P.O. Box 58249, S.L.C., Utah 84158.
