Police are searching for a whispering man who robbed a Salt Lake bank this week.

The man, dressed in a blue plaid shirt and jeans, approached a teller with a note about 5 p.m. Wednesday at the Bank of Utah, 711 S. State. The note instructed the teller to give the robber three bundles of $20 bills. The bandit repeatedly whispered, "Hurry," to the employee as she fetched the bundles from a drawer at the bank's drive-up window, according to a crime report.

Witnesses told police that the bandit looked familiar and may have been in the branch the day before the robbery. They also said he appeared more nervous than confident.
