Investigators are trying to identify a man who was run over and killed by a train Sunday afternoon.
Salt Lake City Police Lt. Carroll Mays said the Hispanic man, in his 30s, was killed about 3 p.m. on a railroad track near 2050 S. 600 West.He had no identification and may have been a transient, Mays said. There are several "hobo camps" near the area where he was killed.
According to Mays, the train's engineer spotted the body after reversing directions on the track. There were no witnesses to the accident, Mays said.
