Mayor Jess Green won't be a member of a "fact-finding" committee he's forming to study a pressurized irrigation system for the city.
The American Fork Irrigation Co. requested the city get an unbiased view of a secondary water system, he said. That would preclude Green from being on the committee.Green and irrigation company President Farrell Larson are in a long-running feud over water issues.
The irrigation company favors a five-city pressurized irrigation system estimated to cost $50 million. American Fork has explored the possibility of installing its own system for approximately $9.5 million. The system would provide water for outdoor residential and agricultural use.
Green appointed Councilman George Brown to be the city's representative on the committee.
